Col de Belvedere

This is becoming a habit! This was taken on a recent tour with Damien, our guide from the Compagnie des guides de Chamonix. We went on up to the Col du Belvedere from where we had a fairly steep and exciting descent. We were safely roped up though so that if we fell (which of course I did) we would not meet a sticky end! A great day!

I have recently acquired one of these iphone gadgets that all the kids seem to have been talking about recently. I took it down to the frozen lake shore to test out an app which simulates a tilt shift lens. This is clearly a first attempt but it could make for some interesting results – watch this space!

A Swiss trip

I went on a day trip to ski the pistes in Villars, Switzerland. It is a very nice resort, we spent most of the day going in and out of this sea of cloud. It looks like there are some nice spots for some off piste skiing there but I did not have any equipment so stayed on the pistes all day.

It has been a while and we have done some nice skiing since my last post – more to follow.

However, for now I must show you these incredible pictures. Very cold temperatures and very strong winds here in Versoix (near Geneva) have resulted spray from the waves freezing to anything they touch. The formations are incredibly beautiful and I am glad I do not park my car by the lake!

And there we have it – the top of the world. Well, the top of the Grandes Montets ski area in Argentiere, but it felt pretty special to me!
